Quarter Horses VS arabs?

so we buaght a arab mare who is absalutly adorble and is just the the perfect horse for me. Im ust to quarter horses and paints. do you show arabs any different then a quarter horse? lol also when your doing halter how do you get them to lift there head up all fancy lol. sorry if i sound stupid but ive never realy worked with a arab before.
I guess what i meen is are they faster then quarter horses or do they do the same slow jog and lope.
oh and i dont show breed shows just local shows and 4-H shows.
haha yes this amre was realy bouncy and im not ust to it lol my QH mare has a fast trot but its super fast you would think it would be bouncy but its not.

I have worked with both quarter horses and arabians (but i prefer arabs)

Both are great horse, arabs are extremely versatile and can do anything a quarter horse can :D

If you are planning to compete with your arab western, they are different than quarter horses. Arabians lope and jog should be a little more extended than the QH (still going slow and collected, but never 4 beating) Also, there head carriage is different in western. Instead of how QH keep ther heads low and straight, you will want your arabians head up higher and tucked in. It is aceptable to show arabs in split reins, but you can also show them in rommel reins to. And you will want a shorter skirt saddle. The longer ones tend to hit there hips and casue some back pain. You can either get a rounded one, or just a short skirt square one.

It sounds like your doing western..but in english same thing. There head needs to be up and in, instead of streched down, and you should really extend there trot in an enlish class.

For halter you will need an arab halter..to get ther head up, use the hand that you are holding the lead with....put it up like you are going to trot off.. and raise it up, give little bumps up and out untill they bring there head up, then ork on streching there neck out. Some people use a crop for this..but you dont have to. It will just take some time for you and your horse to get this down. Here is a website that has some nice (and not crazily priced arab halters) :

Just remember, arabians are really great horses, but you willl need tons of patience :D they take longer than some horses, i think it is becasue they are so smart. Just be patient and dont give up, they love to test you. Also, with an arab they need to do new things, so lunging, trail riding, and just fun riding are very important with them. When you get your arab all togather, she will look amazing! Good luck in the show ring!!!!
