Join-Up (I hate the 20 character rule ;l)?
Ok, i've read about a thing called joing up* in the HeartLand books. It sounds so interesting, but is it real? did lauren brook just make it up? if it is a real method , does it work with troubled horses well?
* join-up (in the books) is where you have the horse on loose lunge. You send the lunge line to the horse's quarters to make him run away from you. After a while of this, the horse should slow down, drop him head and chew the air. then you should turn away, and the horse should follow you. Join up is a way for a horse to accept you as their leader and put their trust in you.
All of the big name trainers have a version of this with their own name on it.
(John Lyons, Pat Parelli, Clinton Anderson, Gawani Pony Boy)
Done correctly and tweaked to your own horse these methodologies do work.
